SportsCity Academy offers group and private lessons in a variety of sports.  Instructors working out of SportsCity Academy are listed below.  We continue to expand and enhance our instructor team and are interested in individuals with outstanding credentials and a desire to work with young athletes.

Pete Waterson, Baseball Instructor

Pete Waterson is an instructor for baseball at Sports City Academy.  Pete has been involved in baseball for most of his life.  Pete is a former Fox Valley High School 2 time All-Conference player and a collegiate Division III player at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  Currently, Pete is the Assistant Varsity Baseball coach for Jacobs High School and also coaches the Woodstock Lightning 10U travel baseball club.  Pete has a great deal of knowledge on hitting, catching, and pitching.  He is available for lessons in any area of baseball.  Pete has been an active instructor in Woodstock for the past 5 years.  Pete will provide private and group instruction at Sports City Academy.

Todd Krennrich, Baseball Instructor

Todd Krennrich is an instructor for baseball at SportsCity Academy.  Todd has a strong baseball background, he played 4 years at Stevenson High School, from there he went on to play at the collegiate level as a catcher for Augustana College.  After completing his college career in Rock Island, he has coached several travel and feeder teams over the past 17 years.  Todd is the assistant varsity baseball coach at Johnsburg High School.  He is also Head of Baseball Operations and player development for the McHenry County Hurricanes which have had 5 players drafted out of high school in the past two seasons.  Todd has extensive experience in working with players from the youth level thru high school to develop and train on throwing, fielding, catching, defense and base running. 

Wally Warner, Softball Instructor

Wally Warner is a softball instructor at SportsCity.  Wally is an ASEP certified coach with over 25 years of coaching experience.  Wally is the varsity Softball Coach for Johnsburg High School. Wally previously worked with the Northern Ice Travel (Girls) Softball program where he lead multiple teams to high national rankings. Wally trained numerous girls softball players who have moved on to college NCAA Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 programs. Wally is a Board member with the Northern Ice Fast Pitch Travel softball league where he serves as their Tournament Director. Wally has also played and coached football and baseball.  Wally will provide private and group softball instruction at SportsCity Academy.

Kim “Hoss” Johnson, MCC Head Baseball Coach, Baseball Instructor

Coach Johnson began coaching at MCC as Head Baseball Coach from 1992 - 1996 and is now in his second stint as Head Coach which began in 2001. In his MCC coaching career Coach Johnson has recorded over 300 Fighting Scots wins with over 400 overall collegiate wins as a head coach. During his tenure he has coached seven All-Americans and seen ten of his players sign professional contracts. Over 40 of Coach Johnson’s players have continued to play baseball at other colleges and universities after MCC.

In addition to his accomplishments at MCC, Hoss has professional baseball experience. Coach Johnson served as the pitching coach for the Cook County Cheetahs Professional Baseball Club in 2002 and worked as an Associate Scout for the Texas Rangers from 1988-1993. He also has a plethora of international coaching experience. Hoss served as the head coach of the United States and led his team to bronze medals in both the Pacific Ocean Games in Colombia, South America in 1995 and Mexico’s Olympic Festival in 1993. Coach Johnson served as the head coach of the United States Team in the German Open European Cup in 2000 and as an assistant coach for the United States 15 year old National Team in Chiba, Japan in 1996. Coach Johnson is an instructor and trainer with SportsCity Academy.

Jim Herendeen, Baseball Instructor

Jim Herendeen offers individual baseball instruction at SportsCity Academy.  Jim is a long time baseball coach and instructor in Woodstock Little League and Woodstock Lightning Travel Baseball, and is an assistant coach with Marian Central High School.  Jim is also a volunteer assisting Woodstock baseball organizations with the maintenance on local baseball fields.  Jim has extensive experience in working with players to develop and train on throwing, fielding, pitching, defense and base running.

Pete Riis, Softball Instructor

Pete Riis is a softball instructor at SportsCity Academy. Pete has been a softball coach and instructor for over 10 years, and is a board member, coach and instructor with the Woodstock Girls Softball Association. Pete was a coach, instructor, and past President of the Colleyville (TX) Girls Softball Association. He also has coached and instructed boy’s baseball as well. Pete brings a wealth of softball experience, instructional expertise and knowledge to private instruction and camps/clinics at SportsCity Academy.

Dale Jandron, Basketball Instructor

Dale Jandron offers basketball camps, clinics and instruction at SportsCity Academy.  Dale led the creation and development of Woodstock Youth Boys Basketball rec league and travel programs in Woodstock which serves over 400 Woodstock area boys.  Dale is a former high school player and high school assistant coach at Woodstock High School.  Dale has extensive experience working with youth programs at every level. 

Dan Krauser, Basketball Instructor

Dan Krauser offers basketball camps, clinics and leagues has over 21 years of coaching experience at the youth, feeder, travel and high school levels.  He is the founder and owner of the World Class Basketball Association which runs AAU travel teams, feedere programs and basketball camps in the Northwest suburbs.  Coach Krauser's teams have won 30 or more games in 17 of the 21 seasons he has coached.  He coached the winning team at the 14U 2002 AYBT National Championships as well as the 14U - 2005 National State Games of America.  Over 95% of the players who have played for Coach Krauser have played high school basketball, and over 30% of those players have played up on sophomore or varsity teams as freshman. 

Jennifer Koeser, Basketball Instructor

Jennifer Koeser offers basketball camps, clinics and instruction at SportsCity Academy.  Jennifer is currently the Woodstock High School Assistant Varsity girls basketball coach under Marty Hammond.  She is a former high school varsity player at Woodstock High School, and she played two years at the collegiate level for McHenry County College.  Jennifer is actively involved with the Woodstock Girls Basketball Association.

Kyle Milborn, Volleyball Instructor

Kyle has been involved in volleyball for over 13 years.  He played club level performance volleyball and mad the U.S. high performance program as a setter.  His team experience includes two top 10 finishes at the USA Volleyball National Championships.  Kyle is now involved with the Club Fusion volleyball program that trains out of SportsCity Academy.
